Oak Lodge is the fifth and final hand-built bespoke lodge at Olivemead, uniquely situated at the western center of the lake. Many regular anglers will recognize this location as the former Oak Bivvy Swim, which we closed six years ago. Due to popular demand and its impressive capture success rate, we decided to reinstate this legendary swim as a brand new lodge swim.
Oak Lodge is the largest lodge on the lake, providing ample space for two anglers along with their partners or a small family. This swim will occupy a minimum of one-fifth (20%) of the main lake’s water. Olivemead has a lake bed which is predominately a combination of stone, clay, and gravel with an average depth across the board at 5′-7′. Directly in front of the lodge lies a fantastic feature: the large central island, which is lined with lily pads and reeds. This area teems with natural food for carp and offers excellent open-water spots, known for successfully attracting some of Olivemead’s larger carp. When fishing from Oak Lodge, anglers will enjoy the experience from a decked platform situated on the water, so you will need either a rod pod or stage stands to fish from this lodge. To the left of the swim, you have the perfect topographical carp attraction, an overhanging Willow tree, which is trimmed back each year to ensure there are no potential underwater snags when you drop a bait in this area. As mentioned above Oak Lodge directly faces the main central island and this lodge swim commands roughly two-thirds of that island that is lily pad and reed-lined just like the margins of the lake itself. To the right of the swim, you have a very ‘carpy’ marginal area which is also lined with lilies and is very frequently visited as an attractive spot for carp.
Oak Lodge features:
– 2 double bedrooms, each with a double bed (Oak Lodge can comfortably accommodate a MAXIMUM of 4 guests)
– A bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower.
– Fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer with a self-fill water dispenser, utensils, and cutlery.
– Spacious open plan lounge with a dining table and 4 dining chairs, wood burner, smart TV with FREE access to Netflix, a three-seater sofa, and two single chairs.
– Electric 2kW radiators for heating.
– Oak Lodge has two sets of French doors that open onto a two-tier decked platform with a large canopy on the upper tier, outdoor lighting, patio furniture, and a single door for the entrance. The upper tier of decking has a large wrap-around walkway that comes from around the entrance door to the front of the lodge facing the lake.
– A fully enclosed picket-fenced, dog-friendly garden area.
– Fishing is allowed 24 hours a day from ALL our lodges.
– ALL our lodges have FREE access to Olivemead Lake’s WiFi.

The electricity is operated through an electric pay-as-you-go coin meter, £1 & £2 coins are accepted for this lodge. All bedding is provided at no additional cost, just bring your personal washing towels and you are ready to go.
PETS & CHILDREN
You are welcome to bring a MAXIMUM of 2 well behaved dogs with you but if walking around the lake with them please ensure they are kept on a lead and all dog mess must be cleaned up and disposed of appropriately. Children under the age of 16 ARE allowed but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
PARKING
All our lodges have designated parking bays. If you have multiple vehicles, the main car park is also available to use.
