The Mead Rules

LAKE RULES & LODGE INFORMATION

PRIVATE LAKE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

  • CHECK IN TIME IS 1pm AND CHECK OUT TIME IS 10am (please be left the lake by 10am, not starting to pack away at 10am)
  • GATES ARE LOCKED AT 8:30pm & OPENED AT 8am (if you have an emergency then please notify management ASAP and we’ll open the gates straight away)
  • PLEASE ADHERE TO THE “ONE WAY SYSTEM” THAT IS IN OPERATION WHEN ARRIVING & STAYING AT THE MEAD (The directions that you need for your lodge(s) are sign posted on the car park or ring the doorbell)
  • DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LEAVE YOUR RODS UNATTENDED!!!
  • ALL ANGLERS MUST HAVE A CARP CARE KIT
  • THE OMC SELF HOOKING CONTRAPTION (aka “THE MAGIC TWIG/STICK”) IS BANNED
  • ALL ANGLERS MUST HAVE A WORKING SOUNDER/RECEIVER BOX WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES
  • IF YOU GET INTO ANY DIFFICULTIES, PLEASE CALL MANAGEMENT ON THE NUMBER PROVIDED (see below)
  • NO MORE THAN 2 ANGLERS, 2 NON-ANGLING GUESTS AND 2 PETS TO EACH LODGE SWIM
  • NO MORE THAN 4 RODS ALLOWED PER SWIM (The MAXIMUM is 2 anglers per swim, that’s 2 rods each)
  • BAIT BOATS ARE ALLOWED
  • NO SPOMBS ALLOWED UNLESS YOU HAVE A SPOMB FLOAT
  • NO WHOLE NUT BAITS ARE ALLOWED (NO TIGER NUTS, PEANUTS etc.)
  • NO ZIGS ARE ALLOWED
  • NO FLOATER FISHING IS ALLOWED
  • NO PIKE FISHING IS ALLOWED AT ANYTIME
  • NO LEAD CORE OR ANY BRAIDED MATERIAL ABOVE THE LEAD OR FIXED RIGS, SAFETY RIGS AT ALL TIMES
  • ONLY TUBING OF AT LEAST 14” IN LENGTH IS ALLOWED FOR ALL RIGS. NO BARE LINE ABOVE LEADS (NO SAFEZONE OR SAFEZONE TYPE LEADERS ALLOWED, TUBING ONLY)
  • ALL LEADS AND ANY TUBING MUST PASS OVER ANY KNOTS
  • MICRO BARBED OR BARBED HOOKS ONLY (NO BARBLESS)
  • ALL RIGS WILL BE CHECKED
  • ONLY USE THE NETS, CRADLES AND SLINGS PROVIDED (DO NOT USE OR BRING YOUR OWN INTO THE SWIM)
  • NO SACKING/RETAINING OR KEEP NETTING OF ANY FISH IS ALLOWED
  • DO NOT STAND UP FOR PHOTOS, KNEEL OR SIT
  • NO NAKED FLAMES OR FIRES (This includes disposable BBQs)
  • DO NOT USE THE ROWING BOAT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
  • IF YOU GET SNAGGED WITH OR WITHOUT A FISH, CALL MANAGEMENT, DO NOT PULL FOR A BREAK OR GET INTO THE WATER
  • DO NOT GET INTO THE WATER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
  • FISH TO YOUR DESIGNATED SWIM (Management will show you your designated swim marked out with anchored down buoys)
  • WHEN FISHING KEEP AT LEAST 15 FEET AWAY FROM THE AERATORS AT ALL TIMES
  • DO NOT CLIMB ANY TREES
  • DO NOT PARK OR DRIVE VEHICLES ON THE GRASS AREAS, EACH SWIM HAS A DESIGNATED PARKING SPACE AND THE MAIN CAR PARK IS ALSO AVALIABLE TO USE
  • IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO BRING YOUR CHILDREN AND/OR PET(s) WITH YOU, YOU MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SAFETY AND WELL-BEING IN THE LODGES AND AROUND THE LAKE AT ALL TIMES
  • NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED TO WONDER AROUND THE LAKE UNSUPERVISED BY PARENTS/GUARDIANS
  • KEEP AWAY FROM ALL RODENTICIDE BOXES AND THE ELECTRIC PERIMETER FENCE THAT IS LIVE 24/7 AT ALL TIMES (Both the rodenticide boxes and the electric perimeter fence are marked with YELLOW & BLACK warning signs)
  • ALWAYS KEEP YOUR DOG(s) ON A LEAD WHEN TAKING THEM OUTSIDE OF THE LODGE GARDEN AREAS BEING MINDFUL OF OTHER ANGLERS AND THE ELECTRIC PERIMETER FENCE THAT IS LIVE 24/7
  • DO NOT LITTER OR LEAVE ANY PET WASTE IN ANY GARDEN AREAS OR ANYWHERE AROUND THE LAKE, PLEASE PUT IT IN THE BIG BLUE BIN SITUATED ON THE MAIN CAR PARK
  • IN THE EVENT OF YOU CATCHING A FISH PLEASE KEEP ALL PETS AWAY FROM THE FISH TO AVOID ANY HARM COMING TO THE FISH
  • DO NOT LEAVE ANY RUBBISH IN THE LODGES, PLEASE DISPOSE OF YOUR WASTE USING THE SMALL RED BIN FOR GLASS ONLY AND THE BIG BLUE BIN FOR ALL OTHER WASTE, INCLUDING PET WASTE (The bins are situated on the main car park as you enter/exit the lake, please do not fill up our managers waste bins in the managers garden area)
  • ABUSIVE OR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS OUR STAFF OR ANY OTHER ANGLERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
  • DRINKING ALCOHOL: IF YOU CHOOSE TO DRINK ALCOHOL, PLEASE DO SO IN MODERATION. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE DRUNKEN BEHAVIOUR, THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY AS WELL AS OURS. ANY FORM OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE RELATED BEHAVIOUR WILL ALSO NOT BE TOLERATED AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE LAKE IMMEDIATELY
  • PLEASE KEEP NOISE TO A REASONABLE LEVEL AND RESPECT ALL OTHER ANGLERS AROUND YOU
  • DO NOT USE THE TOWELS PROVIDED IN THE LODGES WHEN YOU CATCH A FISH, PLEASE USE YOUR OWN TOWEL(s) FOR WHEN YOU CATCH A FISH
  • PLEASE NOTIFY MANAGEMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY VISITORS COMING

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ORDER ANY LOGS, BAIT OR EXCHANGE FOR £1 & £2 COINS FOR ELECTRICITY METERS BEFORE 3:00pm (For pricing please refer to the pricing information provided for logs and bait).

IF ANYTHING GETS DAMAGED OR BROKEN IN THE LODGE FACILITIES AND/OR SWIM AREAS PLEASE LET US KNOW SO WE CAN FIX/REPLACE ANYTHING THAT HAS BEEN BROKEN OR DAMAGED BEFORE THE NEXT ANGLERS CHECK IN.

Swimming is not permitted.

Children under the age of 16 permitted but must be accompanied by an adult.

General

ALL REMAINING BALANCE FOR YOUR HOLIDAY AND ANY EXTRAS CAN BE PAID FOR ON ARRIVAL. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR NON ATTENDANCE. IF YOU WISH TO CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY WE WILL ONLY ISSUE A REFUND IF WE CAN FILL YOUR HOLIDAY DATES, MINUS A £50 ADMINISTRATION FEE.

Notes

The First Aid Kit is located with the owner should it be needed

The owner does not accept any liability for any loss or damage to possessions, vehicles or personal injury.

All visitors cars to be parked on the main car park along the fenced side.

Dog’s: Well behaved dogs are welcome at The Mead. Please clean up ALL your dogs mess and if walking around the lake ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD.

THE ELECTRIC PERIMETER FENCE IS ON 24/7 SO PLEASE DO NOT LET CHILDREN/PETS WONDER UNATTENDED AROUND THE LAKE.

These rules are for the benefit of all anglers and more importantly the care of the fish if any of the above rules are not adhered to then you will be asked to leave Olivemead Lake.
