Cedars Lodge
Cedars Lodge, uniquely situated at the lake’s northeast corner, offers a secure and comfortable haven for your fishing adventure. In 2018 we excavated part of the main lake to include Cedars Lodge in The Meads angling experience. This swim will occupy a minimum of 1⁄5 (20%) of the main lakes water and Cedars Lodge is spacious enough for 2 anglers with their partners or a small family. To the left of the swim is a soft clay bed, roughly around 4-5 feet deep. Directly opposite is the small central island, which is lily-lined and an absolute haven for the carp, especially when it’s warm. To the right side of the swim, there is a margin with a shelf around 4 feet deep that comes out around 20 feet from the edge of the bank. It then drops off into around 7-8 feet of water. This swim also has excellent access to the front point of the large, main, central island. When fishing from Cedars Lodge, you will be fishing from a decked platform on the water; you must bring stage stands or a rod pod to fish from this lodge. If you’re looking for the ultimate specimen carp fishing experience, Cedars Lodge offers just that, with the added assurance of a secure environment. To find out more about Cedars Lodge click here
Willows Lodge
Willows Lodge is situated on the far southwest end of the lake and has been a hotspot for anglers over recent years, producing the men’s lake record of 47lb 2oz. This swim will occupy a minimum of 1⁄5 (20%) of the main lakes water and can accommodate 2 anglers with their partners or a small family. On the left of the swim is a beautiful lily bed and a large overhanging willow tree, where the men’s lake record was caught. while on the right is a very intimate bay with more overhanging trees, a dense amount of lilypads and a wall of reeds. Willows Lodge Swim also provides access to the rear point of the main, large, central island, which is also a good fishing location. You will be fishing out of a stoned swim area, so for this lodge, it is recommended that you bring a rod pod or bank sticks with a mallet to knock them in when fishing from this swim. Overall, Willows Lodge offers a large piece of the lake to fish and surprises anglers with the results they can achieve. The success of Willows Lodge in attracting anglers should pique your interest and excitement about the potential results you can achieve on your own angling adventures. The Main Lodge
The Main Lodge is the only lodge that was originally here when we purchased Olivemead back in 2007 and it is located in the northwest corner of the lake and offers the best carp fishing experience right at your fingertips! This swim will occupy a minimum of 1⁄5 (20%) of the main lakes water and can accommodate 2 anglers with their partners or a small family. The Main lodge features a double-tier decking area, allowing you to place your fishing rods directly over the water. This swim has become incredibly popular due to its prime location and abundance of underwater and topographical features to explore. There is a cozy bay to the right where large carp are frequently caught, with lily-lined margins and great open water parcels. The Main Lodge faces directly opposite the small central island that is lily-lined, and this is the area in which the women’s lake record was broken with a cracking 43lb mirror. On the left is another bay with lilies and a secluded ‘cutout area’ in the garden area, known by many of our regular anglers as the “secret swim”, perfect for catching some big fish, also this side offers great access to the large, central island which is a haven for the carp to hold up in as this island is also lily and reed lined, the large, central main island itself has a sloping shelf that drops off into approximately 7 feet of water. The water directly in front of The Main Lodge ranges from 8 to 10 feet deep; this is the deepest section of the lake; this then shallows up to 4-5 feet out to the right-hand side, making it an exciting and varied fishing experience throughout the year. When fishing from The Main Lodge, you will be fishing from a decked platform on the water, you will need to bring either stage stands or a rod pod to fish from The Main Lodge’s decked area. If you also decide to fish from the ‘cutout area’ in the garden area, you will need either a rod pod or bank sticks. To find out more about The Main Lodge click here
